Dear lavender friends,

The Lavender Hill Farm Shop will continue to be open to the public Fridays and Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm through August. We will also take appointments for the shop through email or facebook message preferably. While our field is not blooming now, we will be busy pruning plants, weeding and continuing to install drip irrigation this month. We hope to begin planting our expansion area, up the hill to the north of our existing field, later this month and into September.   If anyone is interested in volunteering to help with planting activities, please reply to this email to be put on a volunteer list.

Activities at the farm:

Keep an eye on our  "Classes" page on our website:

At this time we have the following two classes scheduled:

Lavender Wreath-making, Friday August 7th from 10 am to 12 pm. This class will be taught by Sarah, our in-house master crafter.

Watercolor painting with Sheila Reed, Tuesday August 11th from    1 pm to 3:30 pm with Sheila Reed. This has been a very popular class this summer!

Plant sales are on-going at the farm.

You can find our current inventory on our webstore: then click on the "Plants for Sale" tab to see what we currently have available.  Please note, we do not ship plants, they must be picked up at the farm by appointment or on our regular open days. Lavender can be safely planted anytime through September, but make sure they are planted in full sun (at least 6 hours a day), with good soil drainage, or on a slope, so they won't be in waterlogged soil. It's also important that they don't dry out too much while they are getting established in the first month or two in the ground. Lavender is a drought tolerant plant, but must develop a good root system before it can withstand prolonged hot dry conditions without watering.

Hope you all have a safe rest of the summer!
