Dear Friends,

I am now ready to take orders for our "dig to order" Fall plant sales.  This year we will have a limited number of 1 year old 'Grosso' lavandin plants in 6.5 in. pots available for $12,  and some 2 year old 'Folgate' English lavender plants in 11.5 inch pots for $29.  These plants must be ordered ahead (please scroll down for ordering instructions).

We will also have some pre-dug "wild type" English lavender plants in various sizes (and prices) available for sale on a first-come, first-served basis as well. These plants are "volunteers" that have come up in our field. These "wild type" plants may exhibit characteristics that differ from the parent plant due to the fact that they were open-pollinated and established from seed rather than clones.

'Grosso' is one of the most hardy hybrid lavandin varieties. The "lavandins" are a hybrid of English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and spike lavender (Lavandula latifolia), and have a pleasant, but more pungent, earthier (slightly camphorous) scent than the sweeter English lavender.  'Grosso', which starts blooming in early to mid-July,  has nice long flower stems, 15" to 24" in length when mature, and a nice medium purple flower color.

'Folgate' is one of our most hardy English lavender varieties. It has bright periwinkle blue flowers starting in mid-June and dries nicely to a rich blue color.   It is wonderful for use in wreaths and crafting, and has a very nice scent and flavor for use in cooking.  The shrub's mature size is about 2.5 ft. wide by 1.5 ft. high, with flower stems up to 12 in. long.

Fall is a great time to plant lavender. In the cooler temperatures of fall, the plants will concentrate on developing a root system and preparing for winter.  Better flowering the first season may be achieved on plants installed in fall rather than spring.

Orders will be filled in the order they are received.   Please email me at:  info@thelavenderhill.com with your order information including: name, phone no., variety and quantity desired. We will confirm the availability of your plants with an email or phone call (per your preference), and let you know when they will be ready for pickup. We do not ship plants.

Our current hours are Thursday-Saturday 10 am - 4 pm.    We will take orders through Friday October 9th or until the available number are sold, whichever is sooner.  If you cannot come during our regular hours, pickups may be arranged by appointment.
